The Towner Art Gallery in Eastbourne and Creative Partnerships Hastings & East Sussex took the collection out across county. The project aimed to: Demonstrate how Towner Art Collection can be used as a catalyst to support cross curricular and creative learning. Raise the profile of Towner Art Collection across the county as an intrinsic partner for creative development in schools. Work in partnership with education and cultural organisations. Towner collection out and about Our collection curator and education manager worked together on a project which looked at using the Towner collection as a catalyst for cross-curricular and creative learning in schools across East Sussex. A selection of art works from the collection toured schools inspiring learning in the classroom. Entitled Collection Connections, this project gave young people, teachers and artists the unique opportunity to respond to artwork up-close for eight weeks. Themes from the collection included abstraction, interiors, architecture, drawing and landscape. The project was a result of collaboration between Towner Art Gallery and Creative Partnerships, Hastings & East Sussex.
